A new European logistics and supply centre has been opened by TDK-Lambda in Achern, Germany.
The opening ceremony was joined by the Federal Finance Minister of Germany, Dr Wolfgang Schäuble for the 2,300 m2 facility, an increase of 900 m2 that holds around €5m worth of stock.
The new logistics centre will enable the company to stock more power supply products from its production facilities in the UK, USA, Israel and Asia to supply the European market.
“Our common Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system provides instant visibility of our stock levels across Europe and random stock access will optimise our handling processes,” says Jürgen Spengler, Logistics Director at TDK-Lambda.
“With this increased investment in additional stock, TDK-Lambda will maintain high availability of its products anywhere in Europe, whether it is through direct sales or via distribution channels, thus optimising delivery lead times.
