ESTA elect first female member

Published: 11 September 2012 - Joe Bush

Lisa Gingell has been announced as the first female council member of The Energy Services & Technology Association (ESTA).

Gingell, 34, who is also co-founder of energy management solutions companies, t-mac Technologies, will join ESTA’s 18 strong council as the first elected woman in the organisation’s 30 year history.

ESTA is an energy management industry association, providing a network of experienced consultants and technology experts, making it a key source of market intelligence to help UK businesses solve their energy management issues.

The Derbyshire-based company director will be bringing her market knowledge and marketing expertise to the role as chair of the association’s events committee.

Speaking of her new role, Gingell said, “As a long standing and active member of ESTA, I was thrilled to be asked to be on the council.

“I have been visiting ESTA events for a number of years now and I regularly share my knowledge at their conferences about how businesses can significantly reduce their carbon footprint. In addition to my strong marketing background, knowing the industry and my first hand experience of the events puts me in a good place to help to drive ESTA events forward even further.

“ESTA members are all business leaders with top level positions in their own right, so managing varying ideas, interests and opinions I’m sure will be no mean feat!

“I have been slowly settling into the role though and we have already signed-off a plan of action for ESTA events for this year and next - including the Energy Event, where I will be taking part in the ‘Using Technology to Save Energy’ seminar.

“I’m very much looking forward to using my experience to contribute to the growth of the organisation over the next few years.”

Alan Aldridge, executive director of ESTA, said, “ESTA has greatly benefited from the contributions of a number of women in senior positions over the years and we’re delighted to have an experienced and forward thinking practitioner like Lisa on our council. She has made a great contribution already and we’re very much looking forward to seeing even more.”

Gingell will be presenting ‘Energy Management ROI is ABC’ in the ESTA Theatre tomorrow - day two of the Energy Event 2012. She will be discussing how businesses can see a swift return on their investment in building energy management systems. Gingell will also be sharing her extensive knowledge and experience at an attendee Q&A session after the seminar.
