Collaborative Robots – Built to Do More
31 October 2019
As the world’s leading manufacturer of collaborative robots, we are constantly looking for the next opportunity to help manufacturers do more. This is why we’ve recently launched our most powerful collaborative robot to date, the UR16e. Equipped with an incredible 16kg payload, the new UR16e is engineered for manufacturers needing equipment for heavy end-of-arm tooling and lifting multiple parts in a single go, without sacrificing the unique capabilities that our cobots are known for.
Following the ethos of our e-Series portfolio, this heavy-duty cobot can take on high-precision tasks such as machine-tending, and has a small footprint meaning that it is just as space saving and flexible as our other cobots – only stronger! The UR16e can work alongside its human counterparts, managing dangerous or mundane tasks. This allows the existing workforce to be deployed where they will have the most impact on the production line. With an incredibly intuitive, out-of-the-box design, untrained operators can have the system up-and-running in a matter of hours.
French machining specialist, BWIndustrie is the first company to integrate the UR16e into its operations. The company has overcome the barriers of traditional manufacturing by automating the deburring processes in a matter of seconds compared to the several minutes incurred by manual labour. This has seen a significant decrease in musculoskeletal disorders among the workforce, letting them focus on more rewarding tasks while protecting their health. From a business perspective, the BWIndustrie can achieve unrivalled quality and maximum productivity.
