Expansion for NI furniture manufacturer

Published: 5 January 2017 - Sarah Mead

A Northern Irish manufacturer has outlined plans to expand its presence across Great Britain after securing a strong pipeline of work for 2017. Woodland NI produces bespoke kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture from its 100,000 sq ft County Antrim operation.

Founded in 1987 by Brian McCloskey the company has a client portfolio comprising top-end customers in the hotel, residential and student accommodation sectors.

Previous projects include supplying and installing 404 kitchens and wardrobes at the Delta Point apartment block in Croydon which, before its transformation into a residential scheme, was used as the setting for Gotham Hospital in the 2013 Batman film The Dark Knight Rises.

Now it has outlined plans to expand after securing £2.4m of work across Great Britain on the back of completing contracts worth £2m over the past six months.

The new era for Woodland follows its commitment in 2015 to spearhead contracting efforts across the water.

McCloskey believes Woodland's ethos of continuous improvement is key to the success it is currently enjoying.

"The company's reputation for quality product and quality of installation on site has led to our growth and we are winning new business on the strength of what we have delivered," says McCloskey. "We aim to be a supplier of choice for contractors in the high end residential, hotel and student accommodation sectors."

One of Woodland NI's first major projects in Great Britain was the supply and installation of 220 kitchens for nine student blocks at the University of Salford last year.
