Lascar’s PanelPilotACE is a unique software and hardware display platform ideal for rapid development of touchscreen machine interfaces and control monitoring displays. Available in 4.3” and 7” versions, these capacitive colour touchscreen devices have a wealth of hardware interfaces, and Design Studio software that allows app development using a drag and drop interface. Absolutely no coding is required. Hardware interfaces on the device include bipolar analogue inputs, eight digital input/output pins, alarm outputs and PWM outputs, making it a very capable display across a range of applications. Development kits including a display and development board for testing all the input/output functionality are also available.
The free PanelPilotACE Design Studio software is available at www.lascarelectronics.com/software/panelpilotace/ and offers an emulator, to design and test your interface for free before buying any hardware. A recent software update has added PID control, wired Ethernet for transfer of logged data via FTP, multi-channel data logging and trend graphs. These join the already popular protocols of RS485 & MODBUS. Lascar’s most recent code-free addition is the SGD 21-B - a low cost, low power, sunlight readable, single channel voltmeter with a sleek, 250 x 122 pixel monochrome e-paper display. The unit is configured with free-to-download PanelPilot B software available at www.lascarelectronics.com/software/panelpilot-b/. The software provides six analogue and digital voltmeter Apps to choose from, which can be customised to suit your individual application. Settings that can be changed in the software include custom labels, scaling and alarms. A splash screen can also be added to the display on power-up for branding with your company’s logo. Modest power requirements of 2.5mW make this display ideal for use in battery-powered handheld instruments, with typical applications being thermometers, pH meters and gas detectors.
