Market leader Spaciotempo supports business growth

Spaciotempo – the UK’s leading supplier of temporary buildings – has been helping businesses to grow since it was established 46 years ago.
Part of the international GL Events Group, it has offices in Staffordshire, Motherwell and Belfast, offering truly national coverage.
The company is proud to say it designs, manufactures and installs all of its temporary buildings in-house, providing customers with a personal service, from start to finish.
The team has the skills and expertise to project manage any build required, from warehouses to manufacturing facilities and even gymnasiums, taking the stress out of the process for customers.
Spaciotempo provides full turnkey packages for the industrial, logistics, retail, education and sports sectors, offering anything from a basic 5m x 5m storage box to unique multi-span structures.
The business has helped countless companies to expand, supporting growth in challenging economic times.
Scania Preston is one such customer that contacted Spaciotempo after experiencing a boom in business.
As trade increased, the dealer found itself in urgent need of additional workshop space to repair and service vehicles.
It required an undercover, insulated area which could provide shelter, both for staff and trucks, when the winter weather hit.
On the recommendation of its sister dealership in Widnes, which already had a 200sqm Spaciotempo structure on site, Scania Preston got in touch with the company.
Sales Manager Dan Barker carried out a site survey and suggested the installation of a 10m x 15m facility with an eave height of 6m.
To ensure team members were kept warm, the service centre, which covers North Wales and North West England, opted for a thermo roof and gable with a 50mm rock wall for added insulation.
The Neivalu-style building features two electric roller shutter doors to allow heavy goods vehicles to be driven in, one door for members of staff and four bright 90W LED lights.
Depot Manager Wayne Atherton said: “It was essential to the expansion of the business that we had an overflow workshop to cater for the increasing number of customers and to enable us to take on even more jobs.”
Similarly, specialist manufacturer of military bridges WFEL successfully expanded its business with the help of Spaciotempo.
The company, which boasts a century of engineering excellence and innovation, is a prime contractor to both the UK Ministry of Defence and the United States Department of Defense.
Thanks to the increasing demand for its services and the securing of new contracts, the Stockport-based company needed to find additional space to work – and fast.
WFEL had very specific requirements that its buildings needed to meet. They had to be high enough to accommodate the trucks inside, which are approximately 5m tall, not including the height of the cranes.
The buildings also needed to be fully sound-proofed and insulated, providing protection against the weather for employees and equipment.
Two doors to allow staff to access the structure as well as one combination door, a speed door and an electric roller shutter door were included in the plan.
With all these factors to take into account, WFEL knew just where to turn for delivery of the project – Spaciotempo.
And the company was so impressed with the quality of the installation that it has twice extended the original 20m x 30m x 8m structure.
Due to increased customer demand, a 20m x 40m x 8m building was added to the existing workshop, followed by a further extension of 15m x 30m x 8m.
WFEL Site Supervisor Chris Jackson said: “Spaciotempo’s structures were ideal for our situation. We needed a building that could be put up quickly so that we could adapt to a new contract.
“We opted for temporary buildings because they give us the flexibility to relocate around our site if we need to. We can also extend the buildings when we get bigger contracts, so they effectively help the company to grow.”
Multi award-winning Foilco, which has been servicing the graphics industry for more than three decades, called Spaciotempo when it was looking for a cost-effective storage solution to house its stock.
For 12 months the company had been leasing a permanent building at another location on the same industrial estate as its Warrington head office.
However, operating a dual site proved to be both inefficient and expensive, prompting Chief Executive Officer David Hornby to seek a more suitable solution.
Spaciotempo came up with a design to fit Foilco’s bespoke requirements and within weeks, the Neivalu-style building, measuring 10m x 20m x 5m, was installed on the company’s car park.
David said: “The speed in which our building was installed was incredible and enabled us to take on more orders almost immediately. The temporary building is extremely cost effective and its flexible nature means that we can extend the structure as the business grows.”
