Safety barrier innovator and manufacturer A-SAFE has launched a new safety helpline to support UK manufacturers during the disruption caused by Coronavirus. The helpline is available during normal office hours and can be reached on 01422 761350.
Run by a team of experienced workplace safety experts, the helpline offers support and advice on how to keep employees and facilities safe at a time when many companies are adjusting to new ways of working. Medical, hygiene and food manufacturers, as well as warehouse and logistics operations are seeing unprecedented demand for their products and services. As they step up operations and take on additional employees to keep essential supplies flowing, the challenge of protecting workers, assets and vital infrastructure is greater than ever.
The helpline team can offer remote advice for installing and adapting workplace safety solutions to reflect these new circumstances. The team is also dedicated to supporting the many UK manufacturers who have switched their production to meet the urgent national need for hygiene products and medical equipment. At A-SAFE our experience has shown there are always ways to improve workplace safety, either by altering the layout of a facility or by segregating people and vehicles. The new helpline will make this knowledge and experience quickly available to the companies that need it most.
Likewise, for those who have had to scale down operations during this time, the helpline will be on hand to support them as they use this time to re-evaluate and improve workplace safety in preparation for their return to business as usual.
James Smith, Director and Co-owner of A-SAFE said, “We wanted to do everything we could to support the manufacturing, warehousing and logistics industries with their response to the Coronavirus. Being able to provide instant support and information to those in need – especially for those who need advice as they rapidly modify their practices to meet demand – is a really great way for us to do that.”
