Dassault Systèmes has announced the acquisition of FE-DESIGN Group, based in Karlsruhe, Germany.
The acquisition expands Dassault Systèmes’ SIMULIA applications to provide a complete design optimisation solution. With more than 200 global product manufacturer customers, including General Motors, BMW, SIEMENS, and Suzlon, FE-DESIGN is said by the company to be the technology leader for non-parametric optimisation solutions in both the structural and fluids-based domains.
“Design optimization is a complex way of saying ‘finding the right design’ for business, for customers, and for the world. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is all about optimizing a company’s business and the products it offers. This is why FE-DESIGN is such a good fit for Dassault Systèmes,” said Bernard Charlès, president and CEO, Dassault Systèmes. “Is it what customers want? Can we produce it quickly and effectively? And, is it right for a sustainable future? These are the questions industry must ask to harmonize products, nature and life. And these are the questions our 3DEXPERIENCE platform answers.”
In a rapidly growing market, design exploration and optimisation techniques are becoming essential to balance the demands of product performance against resource efficiency and time to market constraints. FE-DESIGN’s products will enhance Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform and its ability to automate the process of simulating the right design more quickly and more efficiently.
“We have been working closely with Dassault Systèmes for more than 10 years and recognize the business benefits our customers will immediately gain through their global support organization, and more over time with their enterprise collaboration environment and advanced technologies for 3D modeling and realistic simulation,” said Dr. Jürgen Sauter, founder and CEO, FE-Design.
