Elements Technology has won the first ever Subcon Launchpad Award, presented by Subcon event director Gordon Kirk and The Engineer editor Jon Excell at the NEC on Wednesday 5 June.
Subcon is the UK's premier subcontract manufacturing supply chain show, and 2019 marked the debut of the Subcon Launchpad and Launchpad Award. The Launchpad was introduced to propel manufacturing and engineering-based start-ups by giving them a platform to share their innovations with thousands of professionals with the power to guide them to success.
Each Launchpad exhibitor was given a free stand in the Launchpad area, as well as entered into the inaugural Launchpad Award. They presented live at Subcon to the judging panel on Wednesday 5 June with the winner receiving an £8,000 prize package, including a free stand on the main show floor in 2020 plus marketing support.
Elements Technology is a multi-award-winning software developer of simple digital solutions designed to reduce admin in manufacturing. Its products are developed specifically with SME manufacturers in mind, creating plug-and-play products that match their specific needs and requirements.
Elements Technology CEO and founder Joseph Handsaker commented, “The Launchpad was a brilliant opportunity for us to be at a big event like Subcon, which has such great footfall. Winning is another notch for us and will bring us some really great exposure and credibility, create new routes for us and access new people.”
Judge Jon Excell added: “We really liked the way Elements Technology has simplified digitalisation in order to make it accessible to tens of thousands of SMEs, who can find the whole idea of digitalisation intimidating and overwhelming when it doesn’t need to be.”
From a diverse range of entries, the six finalists were:
Circuitbuilder: An engineering design consultancy who will highlight its use of machine learning to solve real-world problems.
Elements Technology: A digital developer who will showcase its solutions for the manufacturing industry.
Swim AR: An innovative wearable developer who will be demonstrating its underwater heads-up display for triathletes and swimmers.
Vesta Smart Packaging: An IoT start-up that will reveal how businesses can eradicate single-use plastic.
ES Precision: Laser processing and low volume machining specialist who will highlight recent prototyping innovations.
The Data Analysis Bureau: Data science consultants who will focus on how the emerging field of data science is set to change engineering and manufacturing completely.
