eSOL keynote presentation at the Arm DevSummit 2020

10 November 2020

eSOL took part in the recent Arm DevSummit 2020 US/EMEA (October 6-8) and APAC (November 4-5) virtual conferences as a Global Sponsor. Rolland Dudemaine, eSOL Europe’s Vice President Engineering, delivered a keynote presentation entitled "Getting the best performance of today's and tomorrow's Arm cores with eSOL". This presentation focused on the unique and vital role of multicore systems in delivering the necessary performance uplift required by embedded and Edge Computing applications.

The eSOL presentation, upon which participants commented favourably, formed part of "The Journey to Autonomous" track of the conference. In his presentation, Rolland took a closer look at the many challenges developers are facing when using lock-based SMP RTOS architectures for embedded applications with high performance demands. SMP RTOS architectures can limit the maximum performance of multicore systems. The solution to this problem developed by eSOL is eMCOS, a scalable, high-performance RTOS based on the company’s innovative Multikernel architecture.

eMCOS unleashes the full performance potential of heterogenous multicore hardware. It also supports the multi-process POSIX and AUTOSAR standards for maximum code reusage, and is ASIL-D certified. On-demand access to Rolland’s presentation – and indeed to all keynote speeches, technical sessions, panel discussions and workshops – is available on the event’s registration page. A blog post by Rolland on this same topic is also available here. To learn more about eMCOS, simply visit the eSOL website.
