Launch of new self service system for energy brokers

Business energy provider Gazprom Energy has launched a self-service system to give brokers instant access to real-time pricing and the ability to create their own customer contracts.
Designed in consultation with brokers, the BrokerQuote online system includes a live quote facility with pricing metrics that are updated in real-time to speed up the process of quoting and contract signing for SME business customers.
To register for the new system, which is free to use for approved brokers and consultants, applicants simply complete an online form that can be accessed via the homepage on the Gazprom Energy website. Applications are generally approved within 24 hours. A user guide and over-the-phone demonstrations are also available to help brokers to quickly get set up and using the system.
A dashboard facility is in development that will allow users to record and manage their clients’ energy contracts – offering a single view of key information like tariffs and contract end dates.
Mark Eccles, regional director, UK, at Gazprom Energy said: “We developed the BrokerQuote system in response to feedback that highlighted that brokers need greater flexibility and speed when generating customer contracts. We currently have over 70 brokers using the system and aim to increase that to more than 200 in the next few months. The system is easy to use and will mean that brokers can access quotes instantly and create contracts when they need to – making the process from the initial enquiry through to contract signing as simple as possible.”
Terri Lawless, deputy sales support manager at Inenco Direct, said: “BrokerQuote is fast and effective so saves us a lot of time. We simply input the information and the contract is generated for us. The system also verifies everything throughout the process including site details, and this helps to minimise any mistakes which otherwise would lead to delays.”
Gazprom Energy supplies gas and electricity to more than 15,000 UK public and private sector organisations and was named the top supplier in Datamonitor’s 2012 Customer Service Survey of 2,000 UK business gas users.
