Tinytag data loggers in action at The Energy Event

Published: 24 August 2016 - Sarah Mead

Gemini Data Loggers, manufacturer of the Tinytag range, will be running a live demonstration of its temperature/RH Radio Data Logging System at The Energy Event this September. Tinytags monitor a variety of environmental parameters which can help with energy efficiency applications.

The demo will feature new Tinytag Plus Radio data loggers, which are rugged, weatherproof units designed for outdoor/industrial use. Ultra Radio data loggers, which are suited to discreet indoor monitoring, will also be in action. Loggers in the radio range monitor temperature/relative humidity, low voltage, current and count, and both Plus and Ultra units can be mixed and matched within an application if required.

The Tinytag Radio Data Logging System automatically gathers data using wireless communications and is one of the most versatile and easy to use systems of its kind. Direct access to data is available from the convenience of the user’s own desk, with information viewed on a PC, across a LAN, or remotely across the internet. Alarm warnings can be sent when the value being monitored goes out of specification.

As well as the radio loggers, Gemini will be showcasing its range of discreet, standalone data loggers which record information that is downloaded via a USB cable for viewing on a PC. They accurately monitor power usage, CO2, temperature, relative humidity and other parameters locally or throughout a building. This helps identify where steps can be taken to improve energy efficiency, maximise cost savings, and ensure the occupants’ wellbeing.

The range includes the Tinytag Energy Logger, a portable, non-invasive device for monitoring single and three phase power usage: this can be useful for monitoring energy consumption in line with ESOS, ISO 50001, and other energy management requirements.

Typical applications for temperature, humidity and CO2 loggers include monitoring the performance of HVAC systems; helping to assess the performance of building materials (e.g. insulation); recording the efficiency of equipment, e.g. boilers and refrigerators; and evaluating the before and after performance of replacement lighting systems.
