Are you heeding the warnings? New NEBOSH /HSE qualification can help!
Published: 30 April 2019 - Victoria White
A new qualification launched today by NEBOSH and HSE will help organisations improve how incidents are investigated. The practical one day course covers the ‘how’ as well as the ‘why’ giving learners the skills and understanding needed to investigate minor incidents so they will not happen again.
The qualification is for everyone who gets involved in incident investigations including team leaders, SHE champions and union/safety representatives. It gives learners the skills and understanding required to:
Independently investigate simple incidents
Gather evidence including conducting witness interviews
Produce an action plan to prevent a recurrence of an incident
The assessment takes place at the end of the course and gives learners the opportunity to practice what they have learnt using a video case study.
This new incident investigation qualification will help your organisation to:
Drive down repeat incidents – learn lessons so it doesn’t happen again
Adopt an approach to incident investigations that is robust and reflects best practice
Identify risk control measures that require improvement
Sharpen your learners own hazard awareness
Improve safety culture by being proactive when it comes to incident investigation
This qualification can help you learn lessons, make improvements and avoid incidents occurring again.
