The very latest developments in packaging technology and manufacturing innovation will be top of the agenda at Pro2Pac when it opens at ExCeL London next month, 20-22 March.
The UK’s only dedicated food and drink packaging event features 120 exhibitors from around the world including Henkelman UK, PFM Packaging Machinery Ltd, JJA Pack, Automated Packaging Systems Ltd and IWM (Industrial Washing Machines), as well as an exciting line-up of high profile speakers.
Keeping abreast of the latest trends and technology is key for businesses who are looking to increase efficiency across all areas of factory and warehouse production and Pro2Pac provides a unique forum for visitors to see and experience the very latest in equipment, system enhancements, new products and solutions in one place.
Amongst the exhibitors showcasing their latest developments will be global packaging manufacturer Coveris (Stand N950) who will be displaying its latest label technology – advanced linerless label printing – which was developed for the launch of Aldi’s new high profile steak range.
The UK and Europe’s biggest selling brand of vacuum packers Henkelman (Stand N810), will be presenting its range, from small table top to large double chamber models, including the most popular model sold in the UK – the Jumbo 42.
Weald Packaging Supplies (Stand N820), a specialist food packaging supplier serving predominantly the meat industry, will be exhibiting its ‘Weald Dry Age Bags’ which are designed to dry age meat products inside the bag and also enable users to vacuum, age and deliver the meat in the same bag – thus completely eliminating the risk of bacteria from the outside environment. The bags provide protection against off flavours and contamination, and allow operators to dry age in any refrigeration unit without the need for UV lighting or specialized humidity control.
A radically new design of bagging machine is also being demonstrated by PFM Packaging Machinery (Stand 1010), showing how faster and more accurate changeover, as well as greater accuracy and consistency in seal quality, can be achieved via its completely revised film handling system.
The new R-700 machine employs a turner bar system to automate film reel set-up, eliminating one of the most difficult and time-consuming tasks for operators, while also providing automatic film centring, with the position held in memory and adjusted electronically during production.
Pro2Pac will also be the venue for IWM’s (Industrial Washing Machines) launch of a new and comprehensive range of hygiene products and washing chemicals (Stand N1040). The new range, which is ideally suited for food manufacturing and distribution sectors, includes boot washers, automated hygiene centres and disinfectants as well as knife and instrument sterilisers. IWM is now also supplying a full range of specialist chemical detergent for all applications.
Think ‘Outside the Box’
Key experts and high-profile speakers will provide invaluable insights, stimulating debates and discussion at the three-day event from the Outside the Box Stage built entirely of recyclable cardboard!
Philip Cooper of Heuft will be discussing the latest technologies from some of the largest food and beverage brands, and how automation can help businesses. Des King, The Write Stuff, will be looking at what the future holds for packaging with the emergence of new technologies, including the impact of digital technology in accelerating time to market and increasing on-shelf impact.
Bite-sized talks and briefings will run throughout the event, while daily lunchtime debates will see a number of experts share their views on a wide range of hot topics.
Pro2Pac runs alongside IFE, the UK’s largest and most important food & drink trade event, and Waste-Works, the only waste and sustainability event dedicated to the food and drink industry. Between them, the three exhibitions will give visitors a unique 360? perspective from ‘Farm to Fork to Fertiliser and Fuel’.
