DC-DC CONVERTERS

Pico offers the largest variety of 1/4, Half and Full Brick Converters that cover applications with 2 to 500 VDC outputs and offer a variety of input ranges from 5 VDC to an outstanding 300-900 VDC in our new DC-3 series, and power ratings to 300 Watts.  These ranges have expanded operating temperatures from -55° to + 85° C, and are fully encapsulated for harsh environmental conditions.

Low profile modules include ultra-miniature regulated, isolated, programmable, and adjustable versions. They offer output voltages from 2 VDC to 10,000 VDC with power ratings from 0.75 to 300 Watts, in package heights from 0.200 up to 0.800 inches, and input voltage ranges from 3 VDC up to 900 VDC.

For Hi-Reliability requirements, the M, MV and MR series are standard -55° to + 85° C ambient operating temperature manufactured using Mil Qualified components, with output voltages from 5 VDC to an industry leading 500 VDC.

Our Hi-Power modules are ideal for applications requiring output power of up to 100 Watts as well as wide input voltage requirements from 3.3 VDC to 350 VDC out. Standard operating temperatures of -40° and -55° to + 85° C. Encapsulated modules for use in harsh environments.

TRANSFORMERS

Audio Transformers can provide galvanic isolation, signal gain/loss, match impedances between two interfaces, can be used as a reference, and to provide feedback signal. Pico’s audio transformers are manufactured to MIL-PRF-27 Grade 5 Class S.  All catalog transformers are manufactured to meet Mil-Std-202, method 107, thermal shock from -55°C to +130°C. All units can be manufactured with a 300 thermal cycle guarantee.

Pulse Transformers are manufactured to MIL-STD-1553 COMMAND/RESPONSE MULTIPLEX DATA BUS requirements, MIL-PRF-21038 specifications, and MAC AIR SPECIFICATIONS A3818, A5690, A5232, and A4905.  Common mode rejection ratio is greater than 45dB at 1 MHz.  Input impedance is greater than 3000 ohms over the band from 75 KHz to 1 MHz at 1 V rms. This series possesses exceptional waveform integrity: Rise time and fall time is less than 100 nanoseconds. Overshoot and ringing is less than ±1V peak. Droop is less than 20%.

Our ultra-miniature and miniature 400 Hz Power Transformers are available in both Surface Mount and Thru Hole packages and are manufactured to MIL-PRF—27, Grade 5, Class S.

Pico Electronics’ Data Bus Pulse Transformers are designed and manufactured to meet MIL-STD-1553, MIL-PRF-21038, MAC air specifications A3818, A5690, A5232, and A4905.  Common mode rejection ratio is greater than 45dB at 1MHz. Input impedance is greater than 3000 ohms over the band from 75kHz to 1MHz at 1V rms. Rise and fall times are less than 100 nanoseconds. Overshoot and ringing is less than +/-1V peak. Droop is less than 20%. Standard as well as custom designs are available. All catalog transformers are manufactured to meet MIL-STD-202, method 107, thermal shock from -55°C to +130°C. All units can be manufactured with a 300 thermal cycle guarantee.

The 682xx and 683xx series of Pulse Transformers are designed to meet QPL MIL – PRF - 21038/27 standards. These units are in strict compliance to MIL – PRF – 21038. Pico is the supplier for MIL– PRF - 21038/27 -01 thru -31 parts. The 682 and 683 series have high input impedance from 75 kHz to 1 MHz with a temperature range of -55°C to +130°C. These transformers have maximum 20% droop and the over shoot is 1V maximum. The common mode rejection (CMR) is greater than 45dB. These units are designed to withstand 100Vrms from primary to secondary, are epoxy encapsulated, and achieve MSL of 3. Pico Electronics is qualified to test these transformers to level M and level T.

DC–DC Converter Transformers are used in step-up or step-down converters. These transformers can be used in self-saturated or square wave driven applications and have input voltage ranges of 5V, 12V, 24V, and 48V and output Voltage up to 300 VDC. The power rating is up to 7.5 W for surface mount and up to 40W for thru-hole transformers. The thru-hole version of the transformer is magnetically shielded. Pico Electronics’ DC – DC Converter Transformers are operational within a temperature range of -55°C to +105°C and are MIL – PRF – 27 Grade 5 Class S.

INDUCTORS

Pico Electronics’ EMI Common Mode Suppression Inductors are manufactured to Mil-PRF-27, Grade 5, Class S. These inductors are well suited for use in Switching Regulators, AC-DC Power Supplies, DC to DC Power Supplies, and all types of electrical equipment where the elimination of electromagnetic interference is important. Electrical equipment will generate noise due to switching operations of MOSFETs, SCR’s, relays, triacs, etc.  By using these Inductors, noise being fed back to the power line is minimised to an acceptable level and this noise will not interfere with other equipment operating on the same power line.

Pico Power Inductors are ideal for noise filtering, spike, and output filtering applications in AC-DC Power Supplies, DC-DC Power Supplies and Switching Regulators. All of our Power Inductors are manufactured to MIL-PRF-27, Grade 5, Class S.  Pico Electronics, Inc. can manufacture and test our size 1 thru 5 Thru Hole Power Inductors to MIL-PRF-27/356.
