Nanostructured monoclinic zirconia from Innovnano provides high quality, long-lasting refractories

Published: 10 April 2015 - Marianne Evans

Innovnano, an expert manufacturer of high performance ceramic powders, has developed nanostructured monoclinic zirconia with enhanced properties for use as a sintering aid in the production of high quality refractory materials. With applications in steel foundries amongst others, the enrichment of materials with Innovnano’s nanostructured monoclinic zirconia ensures optimum performance and resilience for physically demanding applications, improving component lifetime, and reducing overall costs.

Synthesised on an industrial scale using its patented Emulsion Detonation Synthesis (EDS) technology, Innovnano’s monoclinic zirconia powder is highly pure with an ultrafine nanostructure and large specific surface area. These enhanced properties ensure that materials enriched with Innovnano’s nanostructured monoclinic zirconia can be sintered at lower temperatures to produce refractories of superior quality.

Innovnano will be exhibiting its nanostructured monoclinic zirconia powder at Hannover Messe 13th - 17th April 2015 as part of the Ceramic Applications booth (Hall 6 Stand B16) and at Ceramics Expo in Cleveland, Ohio 28th - 30th April 2015 (Booth 241). Innovnano will also be showcasing its full range of zirconia-based nanostructured powders with higher fracture toughness and greater flexural strength, ideal for technical ceramic components and coatings that are stronger and more durable. Visitors to the Innovnano booth can also see its AZO sputtering targets, which offer high electrical conductivity, enhanced mechanical and thermal properties and improved target lifetimes, ideal for the development of next generation thin films.
